Timeless Watches Interviews Inês Dionísio

Timeless Watches Interviews Inês Dionísio

After our interview with Barbara Marques from My Kind of Joy blog last week, this time we had the opportunity to speak with Inês Dionísio from Indi Glitz blog. At 21, she is a rising star in the world of social networks, but she knows that keeping her feet firmly on the ground is essential. She tells us a little bit about herself, her style, inspirations and dreams. On her blog, Inês gives us a perfect example of success by remaining true to herself, with a perfect blend of trust and humility. In addition to sharing the looks that she wears in her day-to-day life, she usually talks about places she likes to go and new experiences she had. Her approach is always motivating and positive. Life smiles at Inês and she acknowledges it with a greater and more intense smile, enchanting the ones who surround her as well as her followers. If you don’t know her yet, this is your opportunity to let yourself be conquered.

Nowadays, fashion brands launch new products in a weekly basis (fast-fashion). Is it important to you to choose products that you know will last longer than trends?

There is a middle ground on this issue, I think we should bet on classic pieces, which we know we will use for a long time, but I also consider it important to take the risk with some trends. I think there's room for both.

What makes a piece of clothing or an accessory timeless for you?

Quality is on top for me, I believe that’s one of the fundamental aspects. In addition, they should be a staple in any closet like a blazer or a white shirt and should be something we always use regardless of trends, it is something that overrides all trends.

What piece of clothing or accessory have you been wearing the longest?

My favorite bracelet is undoubtedly something that has been with me for many years and I use it almost every day, it is a timeless accessory that we can alter by changing pendants and beads.

What is the best fashion advice you can give to your followers?

Always be true to your style, I think it's the best fashion advice I can give. Trends come and go but the essence of our style should always remain, considering some changes over the years since you are always evolving.

How do you characterize your style?

I think my style is very girly, romantic, sometimes more formal, others more relaxed. It is difficult to characterize my style since it is a mix of my various personal tastes, I think that, above all, it is very versatile.

What are you studying in college and and how do you reconcile your studies with the blog?

I'm enrolled in the Elementary Education course and reconciling this with the blog is one of the most difficult things ever. It takes a lot of organization and dedication to do both. One of the things that most helps with blogging is: as soon as I have free time, I try to plan as many posts as possible to be more free and dedicated to college during the weekdays.

Tell us something your readers/followers don’t know about you.

I really don’t like the popcorn they make at the movie theaters. Whenever I go to the movies I always buy gummies instead.

Who was the person that you most enjoyed meeting with or that taught you something important?

I learn a lot with Joana Carreira's Sketchbook Six blog, I think she has a lot to teach and the way she leads life is really motivating.

Who is your biggest reference in the fashion world?

Hmmm, I have so many! I love Rita Pereira and Joana Duarte, they are two beautiful Portuguese women who motivate me immensely in everyday life, I really like Maria Vaidosa and Helena Coelho as well as I really like Julia from Gal Meets Glam blog.

In what ways can blogs change the fashion world?

I think they're already changing, aren’t they? I think blogs end up influencing the community that follows them and for some reason there’s a great deal of partnerships between people behind blogs and brands, which means that our opinion matters since we communicate it to thousands of people every day. Therefore I would say that our opinion can change the world of fashion and beyond. When we give our opinion about this or that brand we are captivating or discouraging - if the opinion is negative - people who read our comment, which may lead them to buy something or not.

You are only 21 years old and your number of followers is constantly increasing. Are these followers your age or do they belong to a wider age group? In your opinion, what makes them come back to your blog?

My followers are mostly between 18 and 24 years old, so I think they empathize with me a lot because of their age. I think that they come back because they like what I write and what I bring to them in a daily basis, they like my photos and, above all, they identify with me.

How do you see yourself in ten years?

Working in a kindergarten, married, perhaps with a child already, I hope that I have already made my dream trip, with great health and with my family around, and, last but not the least, with a successful blog and YouTube channel at a national level.

What is your biggest dream?

At the moment, my biggest dream is to travel to Greece.

What is the best attribute of Portuguese brands?

Quality is undoubtedly one of the points in favor of national brands and I believe that they are also very different from everything else, hence the attention that Portuguese brands have had lately.

What is your favorite timepiece from Timeless Watches and which would you pick as a gift for your best friend?

It's hard to choose just one but I love Gaia, which is the one I have. I would offer it to all my friends, it is super cute and I love the design!
